Right now, everyone in Iowa is dreaming of a tropical vacation. I’m luckily going to Hawaii next month and with Spring Break right around the corner I thought I’d share some items I’m packing for a beach vacay – all under $40!

This past summer while I was pregnant I got rid of all of my swimsuits. I was holding on to bikinis I wore in my twenties (before two babies) thinking maaaaybe some day I’ll wear these again. Well, that’s not happening, and you know what? I am okay with that. My body is much different now, so time for a refresh. I can’t just lounge around the pool anymore. Now I’m chasing little ones and need something comfortable and supportive. And I am so glad that high-waisted bikinis and one-pieces are IN!

Let’s start with all of the swimsuits I’ve ordered from Aerie – I had heard that Aerie is a go-to for curvy girls, so I just had to try them out. I am obsessed with this leopard print one-piece, but I am not brave enough to go full leopard, so I am going to try out these high-waisted bottoms with this top (truly an amazing top for busty girls!) and revisit the full one-piece if I think I can pull it off. I originally ordered this green suit in red and pink but quickly realized those colors aren’t really for me (my husband told me he liked the red because it reminded him of Baywatch and that kind of killed it for me) but I’m trying to step away from always getting black swimsuits so I decided to be different, and I always love an olive green. This rust colored one-piece is on its way in the mail and I hope I love it – I felt the fabric in the store and it felt amazing, but they didn’t have my size so I had to order it and I can’t wait to get it! I sized up and ordered long in all the suits, and I will post on Instagram when I get them and have a better idea of accurate sizing!

This bikini and this one-piece are a couple suits I ordered off Amazon, which is always hit or miss. The bikini I sized up because I almost always size up in swimsuits, and it was definitely too large so I’ll be reordering it in my normal size. The one-piece comes in several colors. I sized up and I love it – the high-waist sucks me in and the print is so cute. I almost had to return it because I didn’t think the top part would fit but then I removed the pads and it fit perfect! Which I was happy about because it’s adorable!

I always have to pack a hat to shield my face because I get freckles in all the wrong places. This one is a great price and packable so it won’t get smooshed in my suitcase. I’m in love with this beach bag and this crossbody is super cute for a tropical vacay. I’ve struggled to find a good pair of white denim but I got this pair from A+F that are so comfy – I originally sized up and got regular length when I ordered them (I really am still trying to figure out my post-baby body and what size I am these days!) but I ended up exchanging for my normal size and went with the short instead of regular length and they fit like a glove. I can’t wait to pair them with some espadrilles and a flowy tank! Speaking of espadrilles, I cannot get enough of these espadrille sneakers and think they’ll be so cute with some jean shorts or my white skinnies. I bought this dress in green and loved it so much that I bought it in gold too. It comes in several other colors but I had to stop myself at two! I bought one size up from my normal size and was happy with how it fit. And what’s a beach vacay without a couple cover ups? This palm print and this eyelet cover up are both from Amazon and only around $20!

I’m not going to lie, as excited as I am to go on vacay, I am absolutely TERRIFIED to travel with a two year old and a four month old. I’m not sure what I was thinking. If you have any survival tips, please send them my way! Thanks for reading! XO – S
