jacket, also love this one | B A B E letters | Res-Q tape (for temporary use) | elle’s leggings | elle’s shoes | similar onesie, also love this top
This post is loooooong overdue. Like, really long overdue. Elle wasn’t even a year old in these pics, and now she’s two… that’s mom life for you! I was cleaning out my drafts and came across this post and I thought 1) how flipping cute are these pics, and 2) this was such a fun, easy and still do-able DIY that I had to share! You just need a few items and voila – an adorable, trendy jacket that is similar to one you can buy for almost $70 (!!!) for less than $25!
Here’s what you need:
• Jean jacket in desired size
• Iron-on letters, also love these letters
• Iron (optional) or
• double-sided Res-Q Fabric tape (optional)
You can either iron the letters right on the back of the jacket, or you can cut the double-sided tape to size and stick them on. I opted to use the double-sided tape because I wanted to be able to remove and reattach the letters as my babe grew into a bigger sized jacket. However, ironing them on allows the letters to stay on better. Really, the letters aren’t that expensive (only $1.29!) so it’s not a big deal to buy new ones! Also, babes this age grow fast – this jean jacket is a very reasonable price, but I’ve seen a ton at our local secondhand store – so if you’re willing to buy secondhand to save even more money, do it!
I also used the double-sided tape and iron-on letters to spell M A M A on my own jean jacket – I will make my little ones match me until they can give me their opinion otherwise! The double-sided tape allows me to remove the letters and still wear my jacket when I’m not trying to match my babe, which is nice! Let me know if you try out this DIY – I’d love to see your version! Thanks for reading! XO – S
