Comfort is key for me these days, so when I was trying to brainstorm something to wear for my daughter’s first birthday I thought – definitely a dress. Pants and leggings are getting uncomfortable and I knew I’d be grazing on snacks and birthday cake during the party, so I wanted to make sure what I wore was not too tight!
I’ve had this dress in green on my Amazon Wish List for a while, but haven’t really had the right occasion to buy it for. When I saw that it came in black, I thought it totally matched the Minnie Mouse theme for my daughter’s second birthday! I’ve been trying to buy more color and less black lately, but I figured it had polka dots, so that’s ok! I went back and forth on whether or not to buy this – at 36 weeks pregnant, buying anything non-maternity is a gamble. Reviews weren’t super helpful for a preggo. Then comes the question of which size – do I size up to account for this belly, or go for my normal size? I decided to go for my normal size since returns and exchanges with Amazon are so easy, and I’m so glad I did! I’m wearing a medium in this dress and it fit like a glove! It was a tiny bit short but I didn’t mind – without the bump, it’ll be perfect! I added a pink faux pearl headband and some pink mule flats and just felt pretty – something that’s not easy to accomplish in my current state! I’m hoping the right occasion presents itself soon, because at least than $25, I’ll definitely be buying this dress in another color!
